As of September 1, 2012, motions to appear Pro Hac Vice and payment of the associated fees must be filed online using the Court's Case Management / Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system. Orders granting motions for admission Pro Hac Vice may appear solely in electronic format without a pdf document attached. Motions for Pro Hac Vice are required to be electronically filed. The maximum file size for a single PDF document filed electronically on the ECF system is 10.0 megabytes (10.0 mb). Electronically filed documents must be filed in PDF-A format.
When a sponsoring attorney moves (files) a Pro Hac Vice Motion on behalf of an attorney applicant, the sponsoring attorney must notify the attorney applicant when the order has been signed granting Pro Hac Vice. The attorney applicant must, upon granting of the order, immediately obtain a PACER account and file a Notice of Appearance online using the Court's Case Management / Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system.
A separate Pro Hac Vice Motion is required for each attorney applicant.

The attorney's affidavit must be notarized and the certificate of good standing must be issued by the State Supreme Court except for the following states in which the bar issues the certificates of good standing AZ, GA, KY, NV, NJ, OK, RI, SC and VT.
Prior to filing a Motion for Admission Pro Hac Vice the attorney applicant must apply for a PACER account and request e-filing access to SDNY. Pacer.gov > Manage My Account > Maintenance > Attorney Admissions/E-File Registration.
